Fresno Calisthenics Group Classes For Children: Fitness Workouts Updated

With the announcement, Reverent School of Movement aims to highlight the benefits of strength training for children. According to Mayo Clinic, strength training, when done properly, can increase a child’s strength and endurance, protect their muscles and joints from sports-related injuries, and improve their performance in sports. Strength training can also bolster a child’s bone development, promote healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and help the child maintain a healthy weight.

Reverent School of Movement understands the importance of distinguishing between strength training and weightlifting, bodybuilding, or powerlifting, as the latter three activities can put too much strain on developing muscles and tendons. As such, their calisthenics training program only includes bodyweight exercises and freestyle movements that can be performed safely by children, including pull-ups, handstands, and bar swings.

Each class will last for 50 minutes and will be divided by age group for students aged 6 and above. For children younger than 5, classes will combine the fundamentals of the focus sport while encouraging developmental milestones. Participants can also choose to attend weekly open gym sessions if they want extra training time.

“We want to create an environment that encourages personal growth and positive competition, cultivates a joy for movement, and works to serve the community around us,” says a website spokesperson. “Our goal is to use these sports to build your child’s strength and confidence while helping them discover a love for movement that will stick with them for a lifetime.”
